Tour Details

Ortygia island, the cradle of Sicilian civilisation, is an oasis of art and culture. The bond of medieval, fifteenth-century, baroque, liberty and rococo architecture let anyone who takes a walk in this land taste Ortygia’s distinctive history and art.
Just few steps and you’ll be enchanted by the wonderful decorations which characterize every corner of Ortygia. From the Tempio di Apollo – the oldest Greek temple all over Sicily (built in 6th century B.C.) – walking through Piazza Archimede and its Fontana di Diana, to the Church San Filippo Apostolo alla Giudecca, and its depth where a ‘secret Siracusa‘ lies hidden (here you can visit the mikvè, the real only “purification bath” existing in Ortygia who belongs to the Synagogue); from the majestic Duomo, a distinctive feature of one of the most beautiful Piazza of Italy, to the enchanting Fonte Aretusa, built at the beginning of the XX century, which give form to the old legend of Aretusa and Alfeo.
